The Waverly Elementary School PTA is excited to welcome author Elizabeth Lilly to Waverly! In conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month she will be visiting our Wildcats on October 18 to read “Let Me Fix You a Plate” and talk about various aspects of her life including her biracial heritage as a Columbian woman.
The Pre-K through 2nd grade students will have an assembly from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM; Grade 3-5 students will have an assembly from 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM. She is also creating a 15 minute artist video for students to view and a draw along for teachers to use in their classrooms.
Mrs. Lilly will also be attending Trunk or Treat that weekend to sell additional copies and the Ivy Bookshop will be there as well to sell the other books. The PTA is going to be providing one copy of the book to each classroom and a copy to the library.
